Audi joined IAA 2015 with a host of new products on its sleeves. This year, Audi set the stage with 13 new models, all appealing to a different clientèle. The models included cars designed and perfected for racing, city travel and highways.
The highlight for the Audi display however, was the new A4 series which is the first electric powered car of its size. Even with an SUV, electric driving at Audi is a pleasure and not a compromise. Yet again, Audi has managed to do a great job at following the Audi ‘Aerosthetics’ concept, combining technical measures for reducing aerodynamic drag with creative design solutions.
The aerodynamic elements help improve the airflow around the car. The Audi A4 has a relatively high CD value of 0.25, making it highly efficient. It also contributes to the car’s long range of over 500 KM (310) miles. The Audi Quatron is driven by three electric motors, one on the front axle and two on the rear axle.
The lower centre of gravity and and balanced axle it is set to be one of the safest modes of transport in 2015 and 2016.
