Batrace Angut Oola was born in Hamburg to a Ugandan family. An international upbringing and education in integrated media set her on a path to quickly become a prominent figure in the fashion industry.
During her internship at a media agency in Munich, she bagged interviews with famous German celebrities like Bernd Eichinger, Udo indenberg, and Xavier Naidoo. Inspired by this, she decided to study the film and TV business. Batrace Angut Oola is not a fashion designer, but is just as enthusiastic about the industry as any other designer. Batrace is the founder of African fashion day Berlin which she started in order to offer a platform for designers of African heritage to showcase their talents.
For Batrace, style is about feeling a responsibility to express yourself whenever you want. It is also about identity, exchange of cultures and having good taste. She is her own greatest inspiration and also the next generations which drive her to do what she does. She enjoys working with a great team. She likes being a part of the generation which is changing the image of Africa through art, design, fashion, film and music.
Batrace Angut Oola looks forward to continue working in the fashion industry and promoting the talent of designers of African descent.
