The International Pinnacle award-winning Sandcastle Festival celebrated it 10th year on Saturday, August 1 2015, featuring 12 of North America’s master sculptors and 60 amateur teams competing in this year’s event. One of the major events in Ontario, it attracts hundreds to thousands of art, sculpture and beach lovers to the event.
‘Surf, sun and sand‘ are the three major components which make up this event. One of the contributing factors to the ten successful years of the sandcastle festival is that it is open to amateurs, families, children and businesses. The 2015 Cobourg Sandcastle Festival saw visitors coming in from as far as Ottawa, Barrie, New York and Toronto. The day included a live DJ, an inflatable fun park and a kids zone including face painting and mural wall.
The Cobourg Sandcastle Festival is an excellent reason to spend the day with family. The day also included sand sculpting lessons and sported an outdoor synthetic ice rink. Visitors were greeted to a wide display of beautifully crafted sand sculptures in the evening with a movie on the beach under the stars and giant fireworks over the beach.
