Ohaila Khan is an Indian born fashion designer. Born in Mumbai, she knew she wanted to be in the fashion industry ever since she was six years old. Her father is an exporter of couture garments, and worked with big fashion houses from London, Paris, Milan and New York. Her father’s work was her single biggest source of inspiration to join the fashion industry.
Ohaila Khan graduated in design and marketing from The London College of Fashion – UAL. These were the most crucial years in her career during which she picked up the tricks of the trade. She also finished her design internship with British Couturier Lindka Cierach who designs clothes for the British and Middle Eastern Royalty. On her return to India, she joined one of the most prominent Bollywood designers Manish Malhotra. She also assisted her father as a design director researching and developing new and innovative embroidery techniques and artworks, creating swatches for the likes of Giorgio Armani, Elie Saab, Versace, Monique Lhullier, Marchesa and Roberto Cavalli to name a few.
Soon after, she fulfilled her long standing dream of having her own label. Her label is a true reflection of her love for her Indian roots and culture. She believes that India is a gold mine of richest embroidery, weaves, prints, and crafts with some of the most talented karigars and artisans in the world.
Ohaila Khan designs a pret collection as well as a couture collection comprising of both traditional Indian as well as European luxurious evening gowns.
